Get answers from a music attorney to help protect your rights and maximize your revenue.
Discuss your goals with a Los Angeles music lawyer who can then help potentially connect the dots to facilitate relevant connections to music industry professionals, such as marketers, publicists, managers, sync libraries, labels, publishers, songwriters, engineers, studios, and producers.
Prior to the meeting or responding to email(s), the attorney may also review any of your questions or concerns, as well as a background summary, to be best prepared for the discussion meeting or email(s).
If discussion is via a meeting, services conclude after the meeting. There is the option for a follow-up summary email for an additional cost, to be agreed upon in advance.
If discussion is via email(s), if needed, a follow-up email may be requested to discuss any questions directly in connection with the initial attorney discussion email. Follow-up email must be requested no later than two (2) weeks after the initial attorney discussion email is delivered.
If discussion is via email(s), services conclude after the earliest of (a) two (2) weeks after the initial attorney discussion email is delivered, or (b) after delivery of an attorney follow-up email.
Fees
Fees and whether discussion will be via a meeting or email(s) will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
If discussion is via a meeting, the duration of the meeting may be less than agreed upon if all questions are answered and you are satisfied with the meeting. The fee is the same and there are no refunds if a meeting is less than the agreed upon duration.
If discussion is going longer than agreed upon, you will have the option for a follow-up meeting for an additional cost, to be agreed upon in advance.
The duration of the meeting or time spent for the email(s) depends on the anticipated time required for an attorney to prepare and discuss.
FAQs
Why should I pay for a longer meeting length than I believe is needed to answer my question(s)? We totally get that some questions may seem quick to answer and some actually are! However, the meeting time includes potential time to prepare for the meeting and allows buffer time for back-and-forth during the meeting or a follow-up email to ensure your questions are satisfactorily answered. Although prep and/or the meeting/email(s) might take less time than the meeting length you purchased, the fixed-fee allows you to budget and plan in advance to eliminate the uncertainty.
Who will be working with me? We will assign you to a dedicated music attorney for your discussion meeting/email(s). In some circumstances, other staff members, such as law clerks or paralegals, may also help your attorney. You will not be working directly with our founder, Jesse E. Morris, Esq., because he is responsible for supervising all our attorneys and staff to ensure the best possible services for all our clients.
Do you provide “shopping services” to get my music to record labels, publishers, or managers? No. Although we have many music industry contacts, our role is to look out for our clients’ legal rights and work with others on their team who focus on generating opportunities. That being said, we are able to help connect the dots to facilitate relevant connections to our network of music industry professionals, such as marketers, publicists, managers, sync libraries, labels, publishers, and other experts that can help our clients’ careers.
Can I meet with an attorney in person? No. All meetings are conducted via either phone call or video. Meeting in person is great, but phone/video meetings enable us to keep our costs down for you and offer similar services to music professionals that may not be able to meet in person in Los Angeles.
